Mayday is a people-powered project and a home for social justice movements locally, nationally and globally. We are a place to conspire, create and celebrate together. Behind the scenes there’s a diverse team of social justice-minded activists, organizers, artists, neighbors and friends making it all happen.
Aside from getting on our weekly e-blast list and attending events, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved in Mayday. You can:
Volunteer: We are always looking for people to help set up at events, help with outreach and hold a shift while its open. Mayday will make calls for volunteers from time to time and as needed to carry out the work. Fill out the Volunteer Application at the bottom of this page!
Host an Event: Have a skill or talent you want to share with the community? Is there a community conversation you want to host? Mayday is open to a variety of programs and events. Check out the Mayday programs sections of this handbook to learn more about the topics and events we are looking to support. Fill out the Bookings Form here!
Come to a Community Potluck: Our first Mayday tradition, the monthly community potlucks typically happen on the third Saturday each month. It’s a place to bring your friends, children, parents, neighbors and a snack or dish to share. Come get to know the Mayday crew, make a meal together, build community and learn about other upcoming opportunities to plug in. Check our calendar or Facebook events page for more details.
Become a Sustainer: Sustainers are Mayday supporters who help us maximize our impact, grow our movements and offer our space at low or no cost to more grassroots groups in need of a place to connect, organize and build power. You can become a Sustainer for as little as $5/month by signing-up via our donate page.
